UPDATE: 7/10/24 5:30pm BOIL ADVISORY ISSUED

A line break was located on 145th road north of Key Rd. Due to the complete loss of pressure in the tower and distribution system,  KDHE has issued the following Boil Water Advisory:

" The Kansas Dept of Health and Environment has issued a boil advisory for the Cloud County RWD 1 public water supply system located in Cloud County today, July 10 and will remain in effect until the conditions that placed the system at risk of bacterial contamination are resolved. KDHE officials issued the advisory because of a waterline break resulting in a loss of pressure in the distribution system. Failure to maintain adequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination. "

This order will remain in place until we have line break repaired and pressure has been restored to tower. Since we will have to provide water samples to KDHE in Topeka and get the results back before the Advisory can be lifted, it may be a few days.

We are unable to give you a timetable of when water will be restored at this time. We have bottled water available for Cloud County RWD 1 patrons on the Concordia Distribution System at Walmart in Concordia. Go to the service desk, tell them you are on the Cloud County Rural Water District Concordia and you can get up to two cases of bottled water at this time. You will need to give them your name.

Stage 1 of Water Emergency Plan is still in effect - If you have water, please only use for very basic necessities to allow water lines and the tower to fill so everyone can get water restored.
