Thursday, March 14, 2024 / Categories: URGENT Water Update - 3-14-24 5:45pm Patrons – we have had representatives from Kansas Rural Water Association working with us on this water outage. We believe the issue is a water lock where there is air trapped in the line and the water is behind it unable to escape so the water is cannot run through the pipes. We opened hydrants on the end of the line on Noble Road (down by Sterrett’s and Boley’s) and up along 81 and 140th at the end at Blochlinger’s and Dooley’s. By opening the hydrants at the end of the lines, the water should push the air out and run through the lines. We also had opened the water valve feeding your area all the way until the tower went too low to have pressure to push the water. It was then necessary to close it down a bit to allow the tower to fill. Once the tower is full, we will again open the valve. We really hope to see progress with pushing out the air on the lines. I have contacted our stock water patrons and explained the situation and told them they must stop using the rural water to water their livestock for 3 days in order to keep up with capacity on the water tower. They are willing to haul water to help out this situation. I now have a water district cell phone so I can send and receive texts/calls – 785-275-1273 We will continue to update on our website cloud1.krwa.net as we have news. You have all been very kind under this incredibly difficult situation – thank you for your patience and understanding.
